More Online Businesses Could Result From UK Public Sector Cuts
by Rachel Hall on Jun.08, 2010, under Online Home Business
It is a known fact that in times of recession the number of people joining the online business world increases and the latest news about our economy can only reinforce that fact. It has recently been stated that the British Prime Minister David Cameron has warned that the proposed cuts programme will affect the whole of the British public not only those who work in the public sector where there could be a shortage of more than half a million jobs in the cities. The debt problem is so great that it could affect everybody for decades to come.
There is to be an emergency budget on 22 June when Chancellor George Osborne will be trying to tackle the £156 billion annual deficit. This will impact everybody both in their social and business lives.
For some time now the Government has been trying to make out that the worst of the recession is over, but unfortunately as many of us have realised, it is not. It is not only Britain that is being affected by the cuts, the problems in Europe, particularly Greece, show how our lives are being disrupted by the world recession.
At least in the United Kingdom there is some warning of the latest plans to cut jobs in the public sector and now is the time for people to look for alternative ways of making an income. Some of us have already done this and have moved onto the internet to make a living. The old scepticism about online business is receding and people are realising that this is the way forward.
There are many people who due to the recent redundancies and changes to the their pension funds have joined online businesses and found that their lives have changed for the better. Now that these latest fears of public sector cuts have been aired publicly it should be realised that there is much scope on the internet for anyone who is willing to put the time and effort into learning about online marketing and now is the time to get in and build your own online business and residual income for you and your family’s future.

Rachel,
I totally agree. Here in the US people are looking for alternatives as well… many people that I personally know are wondering what they will do to survive after retirement– or if retirement is even a possibility in their future. I hear announcements all the time here about factories and large corporations shutting down or cutting in half…this is the right time time to take our future in your own hands. And we need not be afraid– just find people you can trust to collaborate with and learn what it takes!

We are definitely still having issues and I for one and extremely grateful that the internet is available for everyone who is willing to put in the time and effort to resolve issues. The great solace is that this too, will pass.

Hi Rachel! Budget cuts and reduction in force are happening everywhere. These economic time are indeed forcing people to consider different income sources to survive.
It’s unfortunate but perhaps now more people will see the risk of not having an income stream that they control.
Thanks for a great post!
